The first step in achieving your health care vision
by standardising on patient medical data set.
In other words, standardising on patient medical data collection requirements, thus facilitating data sharing by medical staff later, and creating a framework for a patient national medical database in Nigeria.
MedicalNG has been specially developed by Browse.com to provide a total solution to the entire healthcare sector.
It is flexible according to client requirements for a solution, and is engineered to be totally modular, providing:
• a system that can grow as requirements change,
• a system that can grow as resources change.
Three versions have therefore been developed, these being Enterprise, Standard and Lite. They provide solutions as appropriate to members of the entire healthcare sector. Details of features and benefits provided by the core modules of these three solutions are summarised below, together with similar details of the “pick and mix add-ons” for both Standard and Enterprise.
Enterprise Edition

• Patient Registration (In/Out Patient)
This module manages the registration process of all patients. Key patient demographic information is collected and patient photographs can be captured and stored in the database. Patients are generally classified under Pay Groups which identify their service billing option.
• Patient Record Management (In / Out Patient)
Patient records are captured, stored, managed and processed both for in and out patients. Each patient has an Electronic Medical folder that supplements the existing hardcopy folders. Key medical information such as Diagnosis History, Treatment History, Allergies, Immunisation, Drug Analysis, Family Medical History and Prescription History are stored. Electronic prescription is introduced in this module.
• Laboratory Management
Patient laboratory testing is processed and stored using this module. Laboratory test history is maintained automatically in the patient medical folder. Laboratory test samples and results are shared electronically.
• Stores Management including Inventory Control
Stock control and distribution are managed. Information such as minimum stock level, maximum stock level, re-order level and quantity on hand are all stored and managed. Stock item transaction history is maintained and an automatic re-order report is generated based on the quantity on–hand and re-order quantity. Stores manager enables the keeper to transfer stock items electronically.

• Pharmacy and Dispensary Management
Drug issuing and point-of-sales is introduced by this module. Drug expiry date management and shelf-life are also tracked and monitored. Patient prescription cost is calculated at the pharmacy and there is integration with Accounts and Stores Modules.
• Patient and Corporate Billing
Patient billing at a private level is done by the billing department when the service is provided. Also at the end of a period, say monthly, company-based patients are billed accordingly.

• Consulting Room Management
Patient medical folder provides the framework for consulting room management. All the necessary medical information to aid a Doctor’s treatment decision is available in the patient’s electronic medical folder. Electronic prescription can be prepared by the doctor and all medical notes can be generated during consultation.
• Procurement Management
Electronic purchase order processing (local purchase orders) can be generated and processed easily. A catalogue of all suppliers and supplier addresses and contacts is maintained. Purchase order processing life-cycle is managed by this module. Approval process can be controlled using financial limits.
Stock items purchased are then delivered into the stores using the stores module.

This module introduces ‘Paperless Office’ to medical service providers.
Each patient can then have an electronic cabinet set-up to handle all electronic documents. Documents can be scanned, captured, stored and distributed electronically.
• Workflow Automation
This module provides the framework or inter-departmental work requests to be done electronically within the medical service provider. Electronic work request such as Laboratory Test Request by a Doctor can be undertaken electronically.
• Asset Management
This module manages the hospital assets. Fleet management is also included.
• Property Management
Facility maintenance and maintenance cost tracking is handled in this module.
• Human Resource and Payroll
Staff management and payroll processing in line with Nigerian Tax Laws. Staff Time and attendance record.
